Are distractions getting you down?

Are you surrounded by “distractions” that are taking you away from how your life is supposed to be? Are you just aching to get back to life as normal? Well, my friend, if you’re waiting for a normal week, for the dust to settle and everything to feel stable before you start doing the things you actually want to do, you’re going to be waiting a long time.If you keep deeming the events of your life as distractions, you’re always going to have an excuse to not enjoy or embrace the moment you’re in.

What if this summer instead of calling them distractions we just start seeing them for what they really are: life. What if instead of figuring out every possible way to escape them, we decided to lean in. We learn how to get comfortable in the uncomfortable. We take the invitation that is on the table.

When your doctor tells you that you can no longer bike because of your hip injury, you decide now is your chance to learn how to swim. When your friends bail last minute on your trip, you finally go solo like you’ve always dreamed about. When your dining room table gets delayed another 6 months, you decide to throw down a blanket and hold a picnic party on the floor. When your anxiety tries to hijack another morning, you take it as a reminder to pause and write down the things you’re grateful for.

THEY ARE ONLY DISTRACTIONS IF YOU DEEM THEM TO BE. WE PERFER TO CALL THEM INVITATIONS.
