List of Gratitude
Happy Thanksgiving, friend! Today, many of us will take time to reflect on what we are grateful for. Well, I’d like to do that too. So, here’s my short list of gratitude:
I’m grateful for learning new things. I made my first pecan pie this year. I may have burnt the crust a bit, but hey, for me, it’s the first of its kind. And that feels pretty sweet to grow — to try, fail, and try again.
I’m grateful for a body that can heal. I ran for the first time in 6 months last week. I forgot how strong and resilient our bodies can truly be.
I’m grateful for creativity. Our honest attempts to capture even a fraction of the beauty painted all around, through words, images, and sounds.
I’m grateful for life — old and new. To stand in between the tenderness of my dear friend’s newborn and the wisdom of my husband’s 90-year-old grandparents is a remarkable thing.
I’m grateful for my neighbors. The ways a simple, unexpected, interaction with them can make any day.
I’m grateful for ordinary delights. Puzzles, fuzzy jackets, homemade soup, prayer journals, morning walks, and burning candles too.
I’m grateful for my loved ones. My husband, who makes me laugh, feel safe, and secure. Parents, who I’m learning to appreciate even more, year after year. My friends, who embrace, wander, and enjoy life alongside me.
I’m grateful for you, friend. Seriously, it’s true. A year ago I would have never imagined what Ordinary Miracles Co. would become. This time last year, it wasn’t even on my radar. But somehow, here we are. And I’m so thankful that I get to share it with you. That you have carved out a little space for us in your lives. To take up even a moment of your extraordinary, important, and busy days, is a true honor.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
