A New Place to Bloom
Did you know that all of this — this form of writing + art you see above, the very heartbeat of Ordinary Miracles — wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for a major crack in my own road?
A couple years ago, I found myself in a place of deep struggle + desperation in my work. My motivation, passion, + purpose had abruptly fled, with no promise of returning. In the long hours of my workday, I began writing words with a sharpie on scrap pieces of paper, trying to make sense of the place if found myself in. In the scribbling + in the words, I slowly began to see light break through. Right there, smack dab in the middle of the confusion + pain, a new art form was born. But even more than that, new purpose was found.
Is there something in your life that feels like a major crack in your road? Something that you keep tripping over? Maybe it’s that thing that keeps causing you to stumble or fall down. What if — from that very place — there actually was something just for you?
WHAT IF THAT CRACK WAS NOT ACTUALLY MEANT FOR TRIPPING YOU UP, BUT GIVING YOU A NEW PURPOSE + PLACE TO BLOOM?
